GCI Canada was responsible for all of the public relations for the 21st annual Fashion Cares PEEP. With over 200 media vying to get in and over 100 actually accredited, GCI handled all aspects of the media attendance and activity from the Red Carpet, to a press conference with all of the talent, to the actual event which included a well organized media pit for photographers and media riser for videographers.

Mainstream media in attendance included ET Canada, eTalk, Star Daily, Globe and Mail, Metro, 24 Hours, Xtra!, Fab Magazine, MacLean’s, CBC The Hour, Fashion magazine, Flare, CTV, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, Citytv, Chumfm and many more. There were also a number of fashion and community blogs represented as well as online websites including Hype1, Think Fashion, Toronto.com and fashionwatch.com.

Fashion Cares is an annual gala in support of the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT), with the goal of building awareness of HIV/AIDS and raising funds for ACT. In the past, over 5,000 people have attended the event each year and more than 1,000 people have volunteered. Over the past 20 years, Fashion Cares has raised nearly ten million dollars to benefit ACT and is the largest volunteer event in the world.
