Leading Toronto public relations agency GCI Group announced today that Kim Roman has been appointed as Director of the Consumer Lifestyle practice. She will oversee the practice group while Cynthia Zamaria, Senior Vice-President, Consumer Lifestyle Practice, is away on maternity leave.
Roman most recently worked with McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited as a member of the Communications and Public Affairs team and prior to that was at Cohn & Wolfe. During her time at McDonald’s, Roman was responsible for annual communications planning, corporate social responsibility, community relations, issues management and daily communications counsel to franchisees and McDonald’s executives. While at Cohn & Wolfe, Roman provided counsel to such clients as Sony, Canadian Tire, Allstream, Avon, Hershey and Colgate-Palmolive. She has received both IABC Ovation and Gold Quill Awards and the Cohn & Wolfe annual “Team Player of the Year” Award.
“I am delighted to join GCI Group, an agency known for being a vanguard of change in this constantly and rapidly evolving space” says Roman of her recent hire. Marion MacKenzie, President of GCI Group Toronto says, “Cynthia and I have been working hard to identify the appropriate person to oversee our great Consumer team and practice in 2007 and to also take the practice into new areas next year as GCI Canada continues to grow and embrace new challenges. I am excited by what Kim will accomplish in 2007 and the double threat that Cynthia and Kim will bring to the marketplace upon Cynthia’s return”.
