lynne hamilton vice president, public affairs

Lynne is a creative, results-oriented communications professional with a track record of designing successful solutions to diverse issue and communications challenges. As Vice President, she uses the expertise she gained working with Conservative governments federally, provincially and municipally to help clients navigate their way through complex policy and regulatory matters. Her extensive communications background ensures an integrated approach to government relations, strategic planning, issue & crisis management and stakeholder outreach. A recent addition to GCI Group, she has a successful track record of securing over a billion dollars for a forestry coalition from the Ontario government, $300 million from the Federal government for an HPV vaccine and $30 million for the Rick Hansen Foundation.
Lynne brings over 15 years of communications experience. She was an Account Director for seven years at Hill & Knowlton’s Toronto and Ottawa offices and prior to that served as the Chief of Staff to the Ontario Associate Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. Her work with the seniors community helped secure the single largest government investment in nursing and personal care in Ontario’s history.
Beyond a proven strength in stakeholder relations, she brings a unique perspective of the public sector and has expertise in all areas of corporate communications including media relations, key message development and event management.
She has also worked for the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development, and was called upon by the Ministry of the Environment in June 2000 to co-ordinate media relations for the government during the Walkerton water tragedy.
At the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism, she handled the corporate restructuring of over 40 companies for the Government and generated positive media coverage for the government’s “Salute to Small Business” and “Tourism Week” launches. She also spent two years in the Ontario Premier’s office co-ordinating the daily issue binder for question period.
Lynne holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Toronto. She sits on the board of the Government Relation Institute of Canada. She actively volunteers with Equal Voice; an organization dedicated to encouraging more women to get involved in politics and was recently named one of Canada’s Top 100 Lobbyists in the Hill Times. She is happily married with two children.
